Motivational Author and Speaker Wai Hung Ma Launches
Anti-Bullying DVD

KAMLOOPS—Developed for schools, youth clubs and community groups, Wai Hung Ma’s How to Become a Better Bully DVD being launched today explores the issue of bullying – a serious issue that affects one in five Canadian children.

Calling upon his personal experiences with bullying, Wai Hung geared How to Become a Better Bully towards youth in Grades 6 through 10 and speaks to both the bully and the bullying victim.  Delivered in simple language, in an entertaining and engaging manner, the 20-minute audio/visual DVD turns the spotlight onto bullying and harassment in its many different shapes and forms.

By opening up the lines of honest discussion on the causes and effects of bullying, and by encouraging the bully to become a better person by shifting his/her energies into improving oneself (hence the DVD’s title) Wai Hung is confident his work will bring about a level of awareness that will encourage youth to make better choices in their daily lives and prompt them to become ambassadors for change in their schools and communities.

Wai Hung Ma was born in Hong Kong and moved to Kamloops, British Columbia when he was 12-years-old. Born with cerebral palsy and facing many challenges in his life, his desire to inspire people to overcome their difficulties led him towards motivational writing and speaking.  Coached by Corey Sigvaldason, 2004 Canadian Speaking Champion for Junior Chamber International, Wai Hung became a motivational speaker in 2006. In 2007 he published a collection of compelling speeches in a book entitled Breaking Limitations.

How to Become a Better Bully was written by Wai Hung Ma and produced with assistance from the Kamloops/Thompson School District and the North Kamloops Rotary Club.  DVDs sell for just $20 and include an anti-bullying worksheet.
